A protest against the #EndSars campaign was held on Monday by some members of the All Progressives Congress, led by the leaders of the Rivers State chapter of the party.
Among those leading the crowd, was former Governorship candidates of the state, Prince Tonye Princewill, and Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs. Others are former running mate of Dr. Dakuku Peterside, among other chieftains of the party.
In their protest various placards suggest they don’t want the government to end SARS.
For some months a lot of Nigerians have taken to the Internet to voice their displeasure about the acts of SARS on the citizens with pictures of death, and maiming of victims. Some people alleged the SARS extort and victimize motorists.
Some government officials and other security operatives have asked for a total overhaul of the special unit of the Nigerian Police Force.
The protesters closed down the major Aba-Port Harcourt road in Rivers State.
